All the comfort and nostalgia of a traditional Scottish Afternoon Tea but in the glamorous contemporary setting of Edinburgh’s first and finest rooftop Restaurant: what better way to spend an hour or two with friends?
The Tower’s Afternoon Tea is available every day from 2.30 until 5.30pm. In summer you can even enjoy Afternoon Tea in Edinburgh on the Tower’s rooftop terrace with its great views of Edinburgh castle and the historic city skyline. It is the perfect break after a visit to the National Museum of Scotland below us, the attractions of Edinburgh’s historic Royal Mile or after browsing the quirky speciality shops of Victoria Street and the Grassmarket nearby. When the sun comes out our floor to ceiling windows open up and our terrace high above the rooftops of Edinburgh and with the best view of Edinburgh Castle from anywhere in the city take High Tea to new levels.
The Tower’s Afternoon Tea is one of the best there is. You’ll find open and closed sandwiches, warm savouries, fresh scones and a seasonal selection of home baking from our pastry chefs - all piled high on our Scottish slate cake stands. We have a great choice of leaf teas from the Rare Tea Company and some of the best coffee in town, a glass of Billecart-Salmon Champagne transforms the Tower’s Afternoon Tea into a magical treat! Or choose one of our seasonal Afternoon Tea cocktails. How about our delicous G and Tea cocktail with tea infused gin, grenadine, cranberry juice and grapefruit juice!

We take our Tea seriously at the Tower and have sourced the very best natural teas from the Rare Tea Company for your enjoyment.
The Rare Tea Company was founded in Scotland in 2004 by Henrietta Lovell (known as the Tea-Lady) to source and supply the world's best tea - direct from farmers and their tea gardens. From humble beginnings with just a handful of devoted customers, they now collaborate with many of the world finest chefs and restaurateurs. Whilst many of London's finest restaurants and hotels such as Hicks of Selfridges and Claridges Hotel to name a few stock Rare Tea, Tower Restaurant is very proud to be the only stockist in Scotland. Henrietta can occasionally be seen at the Tower training our staff on how to make the perfect cup.
From the special Rare Earl Grey to Darjeeling White Peony or for a relaxing cup why not try Whole Chamomile Flowers. Read more about Henrietta and her Rare Tea Company.
