James Thomson is Edinburgh's star restaurateur. Time Out 2004.

A reputation others would die for. Scotland on Sunday 2003.

With a reputation for delivering the most magical of dining experiences in unique and memorable settings, there is bound to be the ideal location for your event within one of the venues within James Thomson's collection.

The Tower. Perfect for exclusive private dinners of up to 90 guests, the Tower is available on an exclusive basis subject to a minimum spend and is the ultimate way to impress guests and clients in a spectacular contemporary setting.

The Boardroom. Crowning the sandstone tower of the Museum of Scotland, the Boardroom seats up to 24 diners around one beautiful burr-elm table.

The Bute Room. The Museum of Scotland's circular Bute Room can accomodate receptions or up to 50 diners in a variety of formats. All in a world-class contemporary setting.

The Witchery by the Castle. Scotland's most famous restaurant has two magical diningrooms that are both available for exclusive use, subject to an agreed minimum spend. The richly atmospheric Witchery (seating 50 guests) and elegantly baronial Secret Garden (seating 60) are exceptional locations for exceptional events in the most historic of locations at the gates of Edinburgh castle.

Rhubarb. James Thomson's latest destination restaurant and the most opulent to date, is located within his indulgent 5-star hotel, Prestonfield. Rhubarb seats up to 100 guests in the grandest regency rooms in the capital and is available to clients for exclusive use subject to an agreed minimum spend.

The Stuart Room. The rich red, black and gold Stuart is the boldest and most intimate of the private rooms at Prestonfield. With opulent decor in the most indulgent and historic surroundings, it is an unbeatable venue for up to 16 guests. Visit and you'll soon see why Prestonfield is currently AA Hotel of the Year 2005 and has been named as one of the Best 101 Hotels in the World by style-bible Tatler.

The Italian Room. This is the historic scenic-panelled diningroom at Prestonfield that has entertained all of the great historical figures, from Boswell and Johnson, to Margaret Thatcher and the Dali Lama! Probably the most sought-after private room in the city, the Italian Room is a magical venue for up to 30 guests.

The  Garden Room. Prestonfield's light and elegant Garden Room seats up to 50 diners and with its own private terrace and a flexible layout, it is ideal for meetings, small conferences, tastings, dinners and other corporate events.

The Stables at Prestonfield. The red velvet and gilt splendour of Prestonfield's circular Georgian stables provides the ultimate grand and flexible venue for large scale events and dinners, all just moments from the Royal Mile. With an exceptionally flexible layout that can accomodate up to 500 for dinner, this is the ideal venue for glamorous gala dinners, high-profile product launches and televised awards ceremonies such as Glenfiddich's Spririt of Sctland Awards and The Herald's Scottish Politician of the Year Awards.
